All vegetable oils and fats are 100% fat and are generally high in calories (on average about 120 calories per tablespoon). Vegetable oils are often used in food preparation for salad dressings, cooking, frying, baking, sauces and marinades. As a general guide, virgin and unrefined oils have more of the oil’s natural flavour and lend themselves well for use in cold dishes. Refined oils generally have longer shelf lives and may have a higher smoke point and therefore be better for high heat cooking, but this varies depending on the type of oil. Each oil has its own distinct flavour and nutrient and Fatty Acid composition, so each oil may be used for different purposes depending on your need.
Certified cruelty free, organic and vegan friendly.
How to Use
Skincare
Pumpkin Seed Oil is great for skincare, use on its own or can be used to make your own skincare formulations. It works really well as a gentle make up remover. Cleanses and moisturises at the same time.
Haircare
Try Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil in a hot oil hair treatment to deliver all those wonderful nutrients directly to the root. You can use it by itself or combine with another hair loving carrier oil like Avocado Oil (#231). Massage the warmed oil into your hair and scalp and comb it through. Cover with a shower cap and leave for at least 30 minutes. Wash as normal. Top tip – add the shampoo to dry hair and begin to lather before adding water to begin to emulsify the oil so it will rinse out more effectively.
Hands and nails
Massage a few drops into your hands and nails as a natural alternative to hand cream.
Beauty Hack
Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil has a medium absorption speed so combine with a dry oil like Rosehip (#246) to speed up the rate your skin drinks it up!
As with any new product always conduct a patch test before first use.
Food Use
Spruce up your dishes by adding some oil to your cuisine. This versatile oil can be used in salad dressings, smoothies, pasta dishes, a dip for bread, drizzled over grilled fish or meat, roasted vegetables and many more. It adds flavour and richness.
